Looking for sun, sand and a smile? Than Málaga is definitely the place for you. But, what is it that makes this city in southern Spain so special and attractive for young people all around the world? Scroll down to find out.

Let's start with something we all love talking about, the weather. Because of it's position, Málaga enjoys sunny and warm weather for most of the year. The location of the city, right next to the Meditteranean sea, helps mitigating the temperature. This part of Spain is characterized by hot and dry Summers and chilly and rainy Winters. For this reasons, I would suggest visiting in Spring or Autumn.

Málaga is a city incredibly rich of art and culture. You may or may not know that the worldwide famous painter Pablo Picasso was born in the city. A museom dedicated to the visionary painter of the 20th century is located in the city center, where people can admire the product of his artistic genius and get inspired by the atmosphere that surrounds the collection. Amongst others, famous people who were born in Málaga are the actor Antonio Banderas, mostly known for playing the main character in the movie Zorro in 1998 and actress Milly Bobby Brown, who became famous after her recent debut in the television series Stranger Things.

The city is a mix of different cultures and a bridge between Europe and Africa, Málaga's fortified citadel is the best example. The structure is called Alcazaba, which is a spanish adaptation of an arabic word that means "the oldest part of the city". It sits on top of the Gibralfaro mountain and it's a beautiful reminder of the Muslim Era of the 17th and 18th century. Next to the Alcazaba is located the Roman Theater and from its top it's possible to see the massive structure of the cathedral.

There are plenty more turist attractions around the city. Like Calle Larios, the main street of the city surrounded by shops. Plaza de la Constitución, Plaza de la Merced, the Botanical Garden, the Muelle Uno and of course the Malagueta beach. You will find more informations on other places around the city in the following blog posts and I hope you'll end up loving Málaga as much as I do.
